About James
My name is James Taylor and I’m a filmmaker and photographer
I am a first-class honours film production graduate from the university of Portsmouth with a background in creating social media films and commercial photography.
As a filmmaker I have experience in a range of productions from documentary, to fiction, to music videos and social media films. I'm particularly skilled in working under tight deadlines, self-shooting, camera operating and working with directors/clients to get the best content possible. I’ve worked directly with clients from concept development to delivering the final product. For example, I’ve worked with the charity St Mungo’s on creating music videos to help raise awareness of mental health through viral videos.
As a photographer my primary focus is on product, portraiture and performing arts . I specialise in creative commercial photography. I’ve photographed everything from microscopes, to food to drum kits. In the last few years I’ve had a great time photographing theatre rehearsals and on-stage performances having photographed productions of West Side Story and Cinderella. I’ve been lucky enough as a photographer that my images have appeared in multiple magazines in the UK and abroad, on posters, in leaflets, in stores, on banners and on the web.
